About Celebrate recovery

In January of 2006, First Assembly launched Celebrate Recovery. It is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. It is a safe place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our lives. Drawn from the Beatitudes in the book of Matthew, Celebrate Recovery helps people resolve painful problems in the context of the church as a whole. Rather than setting up an isolated recovery community, it helps participants and their churches come together and discover new levels of care, acceptance, trust, and grace.

Celebrate Recovery is designed to address issues such as: Alcoholism – Sexual Abuse – Codependency – Drug Addiction – Sexual Addiction – Food Addiction – Anger – Resentment – Low self-esteem – Anxiety – Depression, and much more.

Come and see what Celebrate Recovery can do for you!! Join the Celebrate Recovery Leadership team from First Assembly of God Church every Tuesday night as we present this life changing ministry to Bloomington/Normal and surrounding communities.

Celebration Place is a 52-week program that mirrors the Celebrate Recovery one-year adult large group teaching schedule. While adults explore topics that bring healing and wholeness, their kids are discovering the same truths in age-appropriate ways! It helps lead kids in making Jesus the foundation of their lives, break cycles of dysfunction, and join their parents in forgiveness and healing.

THE LANDING – AGE 13 TO 17 (7:00pm – 9:00pm)

The Landing is Celebrate Recovery’s student ministry geared towards Junior High and High School age students. The curriculum is designed to mirror the same material as the adult Celebrate Recovery, only packaged for students. The Landing exists to provide a safe place for our students to process life and the struggles that accompany it, provide tools to help them live emotionally and spiritually healthy lives, and point them towards the freedom found in Jesus Christ.

A typical evening in the Landing will consist of:

1. Connect Time

2. Worship

3. Teaching Time

4. Small Group

5. Fellowship Time

Through the Landing, our students can find a safe place to find help, hope, and healing through engaging the recovery principles and growing in relationship with Jesus Christ. Ultimately, this ministry can help students learn how to break cycles of dysfunction and provide tools for them to live free and healthy lives.
